WE DONT NEED THE KEY, WELL BREAK IN...

Ah the glorious words of rage against the machine...truly one of the best bands around...hello creatures...you have one again entred rock n roll utopia...mwahahahaha:>

Well i havn't visited the ol blog in a while...well life for me has been...well...i'm alive...B)

Dont you absolutely hate it when the past comes raging back at you longing to bite you in the ass...it's a bith aint it? i dont get why they have to bother...probably have some sort of fetish..i dont know...all i do know is that i dont enjoy the ghosts coming back..hello...ghosts of the past....i think they should stay ghosts of the past...

i have addressed this issue before but i feel i must address it again...goths...for the love of peace and rock n roll...get a damn life...seriously, if you people think that dressing up in black and moaning and wailing like a sick bitch about how painful life is, you people make me sick...i mean cant you just be your fuckin selves...i mean sure it might not get you that much attention but at least you're being honest...just have some goody greens, relax and listen to some good heavy metal...you might find that life has a lot more to it than acting like something you're not...

"Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing"...we all know who said that dont we???just felt lke saying that because i think it's true...doesnt mean i go around preaching the so called "darkness" to people...my life, my philosophies, my ideals...are my own..i do what i want, when i want to...i built this reality for me and i alone have the power to define my reality...thats what i believe...thats who i am...

Ok this is just a bit of important information to those who think they can fool people by just dressing up in black and being miserable...appreciating and accepting the darker side of life...this is the main area where you sods go wrong...thats what it's supposed to be about...appreciating whats morbid and dark in oneself...and accepting that as a part of your life...NOT about hating life...quite the oppositte actually...

Just so you know...

LET THE ROCK N ROLL SORROUND YOU

Nice to have you back, LBB. Didn't even know you were gone... hehe!
Well, personally i could care less about goths coming back.

You have to understand that Goths are a legitimate sub-culture of society. Though the gloomy doomy 'goth look' came out in the early seventies thanks to the mighty Black Sabbath, it really picked up in the early 80s thanks to bands like the Cure and later Paradise Lost who (so they say) singlehandedly invented the genre of gothic metal (followed by bands such as Anathema, Celtic Frost, My Dying Bride, Katatonia, etc.) Of course all this is inspired by the certain era in European history, usually referring to the German city of Gothenberg; an era that recalls eerie old castles, black horse carriages, gargoyles and tragic stories that were grandiose as they were gruesome. You could say the early masters of goth were authors such as Poe, Shelly, Byron and even Bram Stoker.

I'd say bands such as Merciful Fate and Venom, took the look to the extremes we see today. What they did was bring all that imagery to heavy metal, which was predominantly leather clad biker fare or ball busting ripped jeans up until then. It became a part of an act. A new look that grabbed attention and also rebelled against the aforementioned industry norms. Marilyn Manson and Slipknot took the look to the mainstream in the late nineties and new millenium, which I believe is a good thing becuase now metal had a new identity and look. Like glam, hair metal, grunge, it's all a healthy part of the cycle that keeps rock n roll going. And I love every bit of it.

However, I can understand where your arguement is coming from... and you're right. The goth look, though frowned upon, still is a part of western culture, stemming from their own folklore. Just like hip hop being a legitimate sub-culture in the streets of urban America. It becomes a joke when Sarath from Nugegoda Handiya wears black mascara and nail polish, telling people he's depressed in long drony monologues. Hell, no one even writes songs in simple English anymore. I'm sick of reading lyrics that thread on the same 'ol grandiose grand guignol descriptions of gloom and doom, using lengthy adjectives and archaic phrasing, rather than convey genuine emotions! The end result is as contrived as Iraj calling his fellow Sri Lankans Niggaz... yeah Pimp my Bajaj! ;)

Rock on \m/

dude i have absolutely no problem with people who follow goth philosophy....as long as they do it properly and they understand what its really about...or like u said it becomes just as fucked as iraj and his football team...and i have met quite a few warts who call themselves goth but have absolutely no idea about what theyre saying...and they just piss me off...that part of the blog entry was aimed only at the SO CALLED "goths"....not the real ones (which u dont get in SL) who i really really have a lot of respect for...

They're all there for a reason; to make us look good. So chill and just ignore it. There are more pressing issues to worry about. And even those aren't worth worrying about. Tropical goth... hahahahaaaa! ;D
