Well anyone who keeps up with the goings on in the rock circle in Sri Lanka should know that the supposed "original" rock saturday is due to happen again...

Yes well that is all good, but today, i came across this thread in a forum of one of our dear radio station websites and there was this individual postin about the "original" rock saturday...seemed to know quite a bit about it...well the point is this person was speaking shit bout the Rock Company....and claiming that we STOLE the name "rock saturday" from them...naturally people started arguing about it and a lot of accusations were made and a lot of different explanations were made too...and this person obviously has something personal in his/her heart coz he/she said and i quote

"It's good that they offered up a stage for people to perform...but the standards are crashing badly. Obviously I'd choose seeing a band live over a DJ. But I think your operative word should be "GOOD" live shows. That's when the band has something interesting to offer. I've seen bands like U2 and I've seen garage bands made up of high school kids....this is not worth going to see anymore. This is why I would prefer a DJ to watching sweaty men perform Smells Like Teen Spirit or any other overplayed song. What's original about men dressed like it was winter copying the vocal stylings of Bruce Dickinson down to the vibrato and falsetto? Come up with something new, people! THAT'S why I stopped going to "rock saturday".

well anyway after reading this post i figured out who this individual is or whos minion he/she is...pretty sure about it anyway...

First of all i have seen only one band in rock company cover smells like teen spirit and they did a good damn job...secondly this person obviously has something against rockers who wear leather jackets (aaaah my brothers of 891...have you figured out who the mystery person is??? coz that gave it away for me)...

Ok well this, as shown to me by my dear friend "poison in my cheese" is the kind of attitude that tears down industries...and the industry here barely exists...i mean its stupid to ponder over old hatreds and the fact that one band is better than the other...just plain silly and immature...

we're all rockers are we not??? have we forgotten what our forefathers explained to us so lovingly at woodstock 69??? its all about co-existing in peace...let the damn hip hop dudes in their baggy clothes and "biatches" murder each other...coz thats NOT what ROCK N ROLL is about...sadly though the hip hop dudes are currently getting along better than the rockers are here in SL...there are factions of rock fans popping up like mushrooms everywhere and making shit up about each other and bashing each other on forums...dont you idiots see that WE are the ones losing out on this??? THIS is what destroys industries...and the industry barely exists here...and i can kind of see why...how do you expect "the man" take us seriously if we keep being this stupid and immature??? i think its our own fault that the SL rock industry aint getting the credit it deserves...

Theres so much potential in this damn country...and do you know what youre doing my friends??? youre throwing it away...what are you trying to prove by saying rock company is no good? we all know that it made waves in this damn country and if you deny that youre just plain stupid...

Man the more rock n roll in this country (no matter what faction it comes from) the better i say...

I have always been a patriot of ROCK COMPANY and i always will be...but we seriously have to stop doing this...

Ever wondered how much we COULD achieve if we actually put aside all these petty fucking vendettas and worked together??? well let me tell you the possibilities are ENDLESS...

We are a minority and to the outside world (the man, the machine....call it what you want) , none of these battles matter...we're all the same to them...and all we're doing is giving them more reasons to laugh at us...

The point : united we stand, devided we fall...yes its that simple

We owe it to rock n roll to try to make this work...
